Contraindications

 

Sports massage is one of the safest methods of therapy as it is a natural and holistic approach of treatment. Due to the overwhelming stimulation to the internal systemic circulation, in some circumstances an adverse effect to the treatment can occur

 

* acute soft tissue injuries sustained within 48 hours.

 

* bone and joint injuries

 

* under the influence of alcohol/drugs

 

* open wounds

 

* dvt (deep vein thrombosis)

 

* myositis ossifications

 

* varicous veins

 

* melanoma

 

* infectious skin diseases (bacterial,

  lyphangitis, fungal, viral or herpes)

 

* tumour

 

* bleeding disorders (haemophilia)

 

* diabetes

 

* food poisoning (gastroenteritis)

 

* flu like symptoms

 

* unstable blood pressure

 

* renal failure
