Have you ever heard of  the term skeletal muscle?

Do you know the impact it has on your body and health?

How often do you think “Health” when you hear the words “Skeletal muscle”?

Unfortunately, not often enough.

How often do you think of health when you hear the words “lungs” or “heart”? Fortunately and hopefully very often, thanks to the media, the medical sector, health organisations and of course personal experiences.

It is greatly disappointing to learn that unless you are experienced in fitness, sporting or the exercise industries there is very little awareness in terms of muscular care.

The skeletal muscles are the frame work which supports your whole body and all of the body’s systems.(organs, kidneys, heart, liver etc) We sometimes do not credit them enough when clearly they are just as equally important for the maintenance of a healthy life.

We can all relate to the very fact that after a hard days work we feel extremely tired, exhausted and that we require time out to help us relax and unwind so that we can then recharge for another day.

However, we forget that the musculo - skeletal system requires the same care. Due to our daily activities, again wether it be a physical, psychological, social or environmental challenge. Our muscles are in constant movement to enable us to meet our set targets/goals for the day.

During our every day activities we place tremendous pressures on our muscular system, constantly pushing it to its limits, enabling us to achieve the highest standards of performance.
