NUTRITION AND WEIGHT MANAGEMENT...

 

Over 2,000 years ago, Hypocrites wrote,”Each one of the substances  of a man’s diet acts upon his body and changes it in some way and upon these changes his whole life depends whether he be in health, sickness or convalescent”

 

In essence, “We are what we eat”. The raw materials from which our bodies are constructed are provided by the food we eat. Normal wear and tear by living our daily lives and the many processes of living, moving, exercising and keeping warm also require fuel or energy which must come from our food.

 

If we value our health, we must ensure that an adequate well balanced diet is adhered to. This alone presents us with a dilemma because how many of us really know how much is adequate and what is a balance diet? For many people in the world “diet” has become synonymous with restriction or denial, yet the dictionary definition of diet is “The usual food and drink of a person or animal”

 

At Muscular Therapy we do not advise any special foods or supplements.  You will have an initial medical check, an interview where we will discuss your motivation, aims, objectives and goals. You will also receive one of our advice and guidance packs. Completion of weekly activity and food diaries will enable us to re-adjust your nutritional intake. Together we will continue working on your ‘Action Plan’, we will be available for continued support by phone, e mail or meeting between appointments.
